“Energy is eternal delight… he who desires but acts not breeds pestilence.” – William Blake
I live in Rochester, New York and am a Graduate Student in English Literature.
I am a self-taught costumer. I have made medieval, Renaissance, Elizabethan, 18th century, Regency, Civil War, science fiction and fantasy outfits. I will eventually be posting past work. In most cases, I use bought patterns and then alter them very significantly.
Comments are very, very welcome!!!
I’m fascinated when I come across a creative, intelligent and well-written blog – especially when the subject is a bit off the beaten path and kinda eclectic! Fascinating mini-histories also. Added you to the roll
peace,

You are a dedicated costumer
It is evident that you truly have a passion for your craft
Do we get to see a pic of you wearing the gown?
Have you done others?
I also added you to my roll with explanation there. Keep up your great work for I want to selfishly read / browse.
I’ve just stumbled across your blog. What a delight. I loved reading your thoughts on historical fashion and culture. I am a theatrical milliner and love the costume of the Edwardian era, the hats, the corsets and the gowns. I’ve just made a cup of tea and I’m getting comfortable because I’ll be reading much more of your writing today.
Thank you.
I was reasearching 18th Century dresses and came across your blog. Your work is beautiful. I’m glad to have come across it. Thanks.
